Flower ring

Last year I was very fortunate to take a riveted ring class with Kriss Silva.   I made a ring with a glass bead in class but when I was doing the final touches I managed to break my glass bead  :(

Luckily, glass beads is something I can always make so this time I made a bunch of them and turned one into a ring.   The other beads I’m saving as I have other ideas on how to use them…more to come!

Cat and Dragon

These are what came out of the kiln yesterday!  A dragon and a cat on a donut shaped bead.  Both beads were made on a 1/4 inch mandrel.  I first make the donut base, add the swirls and other surface decorations and then add the dragon or cat.  You can find the cat on Ebay this week.  The dragon is for my cousin.

Too cold to torch…

This winter has been very cold! I can’t make as many beads as I’d like because my studio is freezing inside…so I changed my schedule and now I’m making beads in the afternoon when it’s not so cold. The only problem is that I only have a short time to spare while my children are taking a nap …I feel bad if I don’t spend time with them.

Anyway, I’ve been playing with florals lately… just using different color backgrounds and petals…I wish you could see them in person, the purple ones are not as dark as the picture displays…I think I need to wait for a sunny day so I can take better pictures! You can find them on my website
What else? I have an ivory cat with amber scrolls…the bead has a horizontal hole, measures 1.5 inches height. The pictures show both sides of the bead.

And I have a few more beads annealing in the kiln tonight! Check back later this week to see them.

And the winner is…
